Of the 262 WVU student-athletes recognized by the Big 12 for their academic excellence, 51 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the spring semester.

Freshman Ginny Thrasher has been named the West Virginia University Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.

Freshman Danique Bryan won the women s long jump, leading the WVU track and field team today at the Nittany Lion Challenge in State College, Pennsylvania, to open the regular season.

The WVU track and field team starts the regular season with the Nittany Lion Challenge, on Saturday, Jan. 16, in State College, Pennsylvania. The meet begins with the women s 20-lb weight throw at 10:30 a.m., at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

Sophomore Zeke Moisey has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
